"Another of his projects is a series of paintings inspired by the ideas of Goya, Greco, and Velázquez. He currently seeks to delve into the stylistic concepts that guided them. From these sources springs Moya's desire to be limitless when applying pigments. That’s why he doesn't rule out any instrument that leads him to maximum freedom. His works often combine strokes of fine brushes with those produced by a thick brush, a palette knife, or a roller. This diversity of features requires a keen eye from the viewer.”
- José Antonio Pérez Ruiz, Ambientes Íntimos de Roberto Moya, El Reportero, July 16, 1984.
